Tint Your Windows For Privacy, Aesthetics, and Heat Rejection

Naples, FL gets HOT. Pretty much every day of the year is pure sunshine. That means when you’re driving to work or to running errands, you’re going to get baked by the sun. Especially when you’re stuck in traffic.

A one-hour commute to your job is very typical. And if your windows aren’t tinted, you’ll struggle the entire drive. Make your commute more comfortable by getting your car windows tinted with professional grade film.

This will give you more privacy, reject heat, and give your car a more aesthetic look. If you want to protect your paint as well, checkout our Paint protection film (PPF) services.

Benefits of Car Window Tint

Are you tired of getting your windows tinted only to see bubbles form, the edges peel, and the film turning purple in a few months? Yes, so are we.

At Matt's Auto Detail SWFL, we only offer premium window tinting services where the installation will be defect free. Here’s a glimpse of the process:

Step 1: If necessary, we’ll remove the current film and thoroughly clean the glass from any leftover adhesive or contaminants. This is vital for a proper installation.

Step 2: Cut, shrink, and install the tint on your windows. This is where most of the time is spent ensuring it’s a clean and proper job.

Step 3: Double check our installation. We’ll inspect the the edges, make sure to contaminants got behind the film, and post-heat the film to make sure it sticks.

The films we use are premium quality, virtually maintenance free, and have excellent durability. This is not a simple tint installation kit you buy at your local auto parts store.

You’ll get the best final product we can deliver. Depending on the size of your vehicle, installation can take a full day to complete. If you pair it with additional detailing services, it’ll take longer to complete (of course, we’ll discuss all this beforehand).

Window Tint Keeps Your Car's Interior Cooler During Naples, FL Heat

Naples, FL heat is relentless. You sometimes can’t get away from it. It’s hot in your house, it’s hot outside, and it’s hot when you’re driving around the city. But one thing that can greatly reduce the heat inside your vehicle is ceramic tint.

And this is why we call our most popular window tint option the Heat Protection Package. This is when we tint all your windows, including your windshield, in ceramic film.

The key part to this is the windshield because it’s often times the biggest window you have in your car and where it lets the most amount of heat in. So with ceramic film, the film that has the most heat blocking abilities, will dramatically make your car cooler.

If you pass by our shop, we can even show you a demo on how it works using our infrared light box. You’ll instantly feel the difference of what ceramic film can offer.

And this makes a big difference if you have pets or younger kids inside your vehicle.

When your windows aren’t tinted in ceramic film, the sun is still getting through the windows and heating up your interior. Which makes it much more uncomfortable for your kids, babies, or pets.

My Last Tint Bubbled and Turned Purple

We see that all the time in our shop. Generally speaking, when your film discolors, that’s due to the quality of the film. You could have good, clean install, but if the film is very old or of lower quality, the black dye will eventually deteriorate and discolor. With the brand we use, LLumar, they have a lifetime guarantee that it won’t purple or bubble up. So it should last you a very long time!

Another common problem we see with window tint is debris and water moisture getting stuck behind the film, which means you’ll see a dust, very small bubbles, or hair in your glass. This is due to a manufacture defect in the film, a crease that was created in the film during the installation process, or if the work environment simply wasn’t clean enough and as the tint was being installed, debris got back onto the glass.

Window Tint FAQ

Where is your shop located?
We offer our window tinting and detail services at our shop located at 1301 Rail Head Blvd STE 5. Naples, FL.

How long does it take to tint my windows?
A few factors must be taken into consideration: Are we removing pre-existing tint? How big are the windows? How many windows are being tinted? Are the windows complex? Generally speaking, if we’re doing all the windows, we’d ask for a full day to complete the job. If it’s just the front two, then we’ll just need a few hours.

What’s the difference between a tint kit and what you offer?
Tint kits are a great starting point if you want to tint your windows yourself. But it can quickly get complicated and frustrating. On top of that, the quality of the film is usually subpar relative to premium brands. Nonetheless, it will get the job done if you put in the effort.

Are the windows tinted on the interior or exterior of the car?
Your car windows are tinted from the inside! You may have seen photos where the tint is on the outside of the window, but that’s only to cut or shrink the film The actual installation is done on the interior.

What are the tint laws in Florida?
You can find a detailed page on tint laws in Florida here. The front two driver windows must be no darker than 28%. The rear passenger windows must've no darker than 15%. The rear window must also be no darker than 15%.

How long will my window tint last?
Like many things, it depends on the quality of the film, how you store the vehicle, and how you maintain the film. The film we use, LLumar, has a lifetime warranty. The film will no delaminate, crack, peel, bubble, or color-change.

Can you tint my front windshield?
Yes, we can definitely do that. The windshield will often times be the biggest window on your car (unless you have a large sunroof or back window) and allow the most heat in. So if you want to keep the heat out, you’d want to go with carbon or ceramic tint. This will make a big difference in rejecting heat! And you don’t have to lose visibility. We often use 70% ceramic to not add any darkness but to gain all the benefits.

When can I roll down my windows?
At a minimum, you’d want to wait 24 hours after installation to roll down your windows. This will allow enough time for the film to cure and adhere to the glass in the sun. If you roll down your windows before then, you risk the chance of moving the film out of place. This can lead to creating gaps in the tint or edges to peel. If it’s during winter time, it’s safer to wait 48 to 72 hours for the windows to cure.

Do you have to take off the old film first?
Yes, before we install new window film, we’d first have to remove your pre-existing tint. This can make the tint process take much longer. Sometimes the old tint will come off with not much work. But other times, it’ll come off in pieces and leave all the old adhesive behind. So we have to do a thorough job of prepping the glass before we even think about installing the new film.

Should I try to install tint myself?
That’s how we all start! You can always order a generic tint kit from Amazon and have a go at it. It can be very rewarding to do it yourself.

My glass has small chips in it. Will this affect the tint process?
Overall, it doesn’t affect the tint process or the results that you get, but you may see more of those chips or cracks from your glass after we’ve tinted it.
